Finally, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the 15-man World Cup squad for Windies which will be led by Jason Holder. The all-rounder has been doing a fine job for them over the years and the board has entrusted with the responsibility to lead the side yet again. As expected, the Universe Boss Chris Gayle has also made it to the line-up and this edition of the mega event will be his swansong from the 50-over format.
Shai Hope is one of the most talented batsmen of the current generation and there was never a doubt over his place in the team. Shimron Hetmyer, who is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), is also in the squad along with Darren Bravo who made a comeback recently after a long exile in the format.
Formidable pace attack
With the tournament to be played in England, the CWI selectors have picked three out and out pace bowlers. Kemar Roach will lead the pace attack while Shannon Gabriel, Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas are the other fast bowlers in the line-up. Even Holder is no mug as he more often opens the bowling for them. Carlos Brathwaite is the other option in that department as well. Ashley Nurse and Fabian Allen are the two spinners in the line-up.
Coming to the blockbuster picks, Nicholas Pooran has been included in the World Cup squad while Andre Russell has also made it thanks to his fantastic form in the ongoing IPL. However, it remains to be seen if he will be fully fit by the time, the tournament starts.

Jason Holder (c), Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Ashley Nurse, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Evin Lewis, Fabian Allen, Kemar Roach, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Oshane Thomas, Shai Hope, Shannon Gabriel, Sheldon Cottrell, Shimron Hetmyer
