World Cup 2019: Fans ready to spend staggering amount to buy tickets for India-Pakistan clash
The two teams will lock horns at Manchester on Saturday.
The craze surrounding any India-Pakistan match does not need any introduction. The entire cricketing fraternity desperately waits for this marquee clash which has only been restricted to major tournaments. All the eyes are now on the World Cup clash between the two arch-rivals on Sunday (June 16). This is the first meeting between the two teams this year and also the first since the meeting in the 2018 Asia Cup.
Fans go crazy hunting for tickets of the match and one can just take a measure of how much the game is in demand from the fact that the fans are willing to pay over Rs 1 lakh for a single ticket for the game. A single platinum ticket for the game at the Old Trafford in Manchester is being sold for as many as Rs 1,39,643. The tickets for the highly-demanding clash are available on Viagogo – a reselling site.
Some of the fans who had bought the tickets for the original price from the official website have resold their tickets on the portal. The website is now cashing in on the opportunity by selling the tickets to the fans who desperately want it. Those tickets are being sold in four ranges – mainly Bronze (Rs 17,840 to 23,270), Silver (Rs 23,270 to 24,300), Gold (Rs 24,300 to 20,780) and Platinum (Rs 50,000 onwards). Those who want to watch the game have a golden opportunity to buy those tickets and watch an action-packed high-voltage clash.
India looking to extend winning run:
India, meanwhile, will be the favourites for the huge clash in Manchester. The Men in Blue have earned the bragging rights for the clash. Both the teams have met six times in the World Cup and India have won on all occasions. With current form also in India’s favour, they look primed to extend their winning run over their fierce rivals.
India skipper Virat Kohli has already said that the clash against Pakistan bring out the best in his players and he would be hoping that the players really deliver.
“It’s been competitive for years, it’s a marquee event all over the world, honour to be a part of the big game. Brings out the best in all of us,” Kohli said earlier this week before adding: “For Sunday, we know we’re there when it comes to the mindset. Just about going out there and having a game plan, executing it.”
