India on Tuesday face Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup 2019 match in Edgbaston with an eye on semi-finals qualification. Both the teams require a win here and India seemingly have an upper hand given that Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first. Both the openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave the team a rousing start by tearing apart the Bangla bowlers.

Such performance was cheered by everyone and this included Yuvraj Singh, who recently called time on his career. The southpaw may have retired from international cricket and this has given him time to get involved more on social media and this has led to some highly funny conversations with his friends and contemporaries on Twitter and one of such people who love to have a banter with him is England’s Kevin Pietersen.

KL Rahul slammed a composed 77, while Rohit Sharma continued his wonderful form in the tournament and completed his fourth century, becoming only the second batsman to achieve this feat after Kumar Sangakkara, who did it in 2015 edition. Sharma’s century had 7 fours and 5 sixes in the innings, which also made him the batsman with most sixes in ODIs for India.

This led to his former teammate Yuvraj applaud him and mentioned that Rohit is well onto his way of becoming the Player of the Tournament, an award that the former player himself won in India’s 2011 triumph. Yuvraj tweeted,” And @ImRo45 walks closer to the Icc mos trophy ???? ???????????????? #hitman you beauty ???? no 4 ☝????☝????☝????☝???? well played champion !!!”

Pietersen couldn’t stop himself from taking a jibe and said, “Not if England wins the WC, Pie-Chucker!”

However, it was the former Indian player who had the last laugh and mentioned, “Let’s qualify first and then talk about wining ???? and I’m talking about mos trophy not winning !”

In reply, Pietersen could only tweet “I’m sure India will qualify mate!”

The Indian team needs to win this match to qualify for the top four and after the bashing, they received at the hands of England, decided to make two big changes in their team. Out went Kuldeep Yadav and Kedar Jadhav and in came a fit-again Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Dinesh Karthik.

It was a big day for Karthik, who was part of the 2007 World Cup squad, made his debut in the tournament, 12 years later. Bangladesh also had to make two changes, bringing in Sabbir Rahman and Rubel Hossain, for Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraj respectively.
