World Cup 2019: Michael Vaughan gives a savage response to Imran Khan
Twitterati seemed to have enjoyed this savage reply from Vaughan.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan seemed animated ahead of the marquee clash against India in the World Cup 2019. He took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to share a series of five tweets. The 1992 World Cup-winning captain had some words of motivation for the national team. While everything about those tweets was on point, Imran failed to notice a minor detail and Michael Vaughan was quick to point that out.
In his tweets, the former cricket team captain noted that Pakistan was fortunate to have a skipper like Sarfaraz Ahmed. Moreover, he even had a few valuable suggestions for the team’s captain. Imran Khan asked Sarfaraz to choose to bat first if he wins the toss. Also, he recommended having a team full of specialist batsmen and bowlers instead of picking all-rounders who bat and bowl a bit. He was of the opinion that this kind of players usually fails to deliver in this kind of high-pressure games.
“In order to have a winning offensive strategy Sarfaraz must go in with specialist batsmen and bowlers because “Raillu Kattas” rarely perform under pressure – especially the intense kind that will be generated today. 2. Unless pitch is damp, Sarfaraz must win the toss & bat,” wrote Imran in his tweet.
The skipper isn’t on Twitter PM
However, the wicketkeeper-batsman didn’t oblige the former skipper’s recommendations. He opted to bowl first after winning the toss even though the pitch seemed to be extremely dry. Moreover, Sarfaraz roped in the likes of Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan into the eleven in place of Shaheen Afridi and Asif Ali. Thus, he was brutally trolled on social media for not paying attention to the words from the PM.
However, former English skipper Michael Vaughan came to the rescue of the 32-year-old. In his reply to Imran Khan’s tweet, Vaughan informed that Sarfaraz isn’t currently active on Twitter. “The skipper obviously isn’t on Twitter PM,” he tweeted.
