World Cup 2019: Mike Hussey not to share CSK mate MS Dhoni’s secrets with Australia
Dhoni came back to form from a prolonged bad patch in January and he did it against the Australians by hitting three consecutive fifties on their soil.
Last two times they met in the World Cup, it was in the knock-outs. While India took away Australia’s crown in the quarter-final of 2011 World Cup, the Kangaroos reciprocated in the semi-final of the 2015 edition. The powerhouses now prepare for yet another showdown in the World Cup and it is at the Oval on Sunday. For Indian wicket-keeper-batsman MS Dhoni, it will be the third clash for him against Australia in the World Cup, and expectations will be high on him to deliver.
Dhoni came back to form from a prolonged bad patch in January and he did it against the Australians by hitting three consecutive fifties on their soil. He will still be remembering the loss in Sydney in the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup in which he had top-scored (65) for his side but still could not win it for them and lost his crown.
Mike Hussey, a former Australia batsman who currently works closely with Dhoni as the batting coach of the Chennai Super Kings, has refused to acknowledge that the maestro has many weaknesses and even if he has a few, he wouldn’t share them with his compatriots in Aaron Finch’s side ahead of Sunday’s mega clash.
“No chance. There aren’t too many weaknesses there anyway,” Times of India cited reports quoting Hussey as saying when asked if he would share something on Dhoni with the Australians.
Hussey is confident that Australia will have their own plans for MS Dhoni
The former limited-over specialist was, however, confident that Australia will have their plans in place for the Ranchi cricketer since teams nowadays do a lot of homework on opponent players.
“All the teams do a very thorough analysis of all the players so I am sure that they will have their plans for MSD and all the Indian players.”
Dhoni scored a key 46-ball 34 in the match against South Africa to add 74 crucial runs with Rohit Sharma (122 not out) for the fourth wicket to ensure the victory. Hussey praised the man who is playing in his fourth World Cup as a “great competitor” who “keeps his composure better than anyone especially under pressure”.
