Cricket has been the sport that has brought peace to nations in turmoil, the greatest example being Afghanistan. The sport has given so much to the world that whenever India and Pakistan play, no matter how diverse the Indian population is, they unite as a fan of the cricket team for that one day forming the biggest fanbase of the game. The keyword here is unity. Religions, communities, political loyalties have divided us all, but cricket has always been “beyond boundaries.”
One of the biggest testimonies to the fact can be seen through the love a Pakistan fan has for the ex Indian captain MS Dhoni- who in probabilities will be playing his final World Cup. A fan on twitter named Shehzad Ul-Hassan posted pictures of a custom made jersey of that carries the Pakistan team name in the front but what’s engraved on the back is what makes the T-shirt so unique and talked about. The second picture in the tweet shows Dhoni’s name on his back of his newly received Pakistan World Cup jersey.
The World Cup begins in less than a week and the excitement amongst fans is uncontainable as the action commences on May 30, in England and Wales. And in such an atmosphere who would’ve known that the most trending fan on Twitter would be a guy from Pakistan who follows the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni and put his name on Pakistan’s World Cup jersey of the Green Army that will be worn by Sarfaraz Ahmed and Co at the showpiece event.
Well, not to forget, the Indian fans have also been massive fans of great cricketers like Wasim Akram and there’s always a place in our hearts for the evergreen Shahid Afridi. The other Pakistan fans who are followers of Shehzad Ul-Hassan on Twitter were also very well-receiving of the jersey that has caught so much of attention. One of the users wrote: “COUNTRY CHANGES BUT THE LOVE OF THALA DOESN’T CHANGE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THALA.”
Here’s the Tweet:
Thankyou @TPLUS for making my day… 👃👃@msdhoni pic.twitter.com/nsscagDLWw
