14. KL Rahul: Batting – 7 | Fielding – 8:
The elegant batsman from the south of India has always eluded the spectators with his potential. In the last couple of years, he has been given opportunities at various positions but has failed to maintain his tempo consistently. Lokesh Rahul has been trusted by the skipper because of his immense talent. He is selected as a back-up opener but can also ply the trade in middle-order.
Rahul has been given a longer rope and his recent exploits in IPL 2019 got him the ticket to England, as he can be a match-winner on his day. The 27-year-old has often struggled against the moving ball which is not acceptable for a top order player but still, he deserves a score of 7 for his class.
Like all the cricketers from Karnataka, Rahul has a safe pair of hands. He can pull off blinders in the ring and his ground fielding is also good. He is an injury-prone player which can hinder his skills on the field and as a result, he gets a rating of 8 in this regard.
