World Cup 2019: Urvashi Rautela wishes Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni luck ahead of the mega event
India will play their warm-up games against New Zealand and Bangladesh on May 25 and 28 respectively.
All eyes will be on Virat Kohli in the coming days as he will lead India in the upcoming World Cup. The Men in Blue are one of the favourites to lift the coveted title in England, the country where India won their first-ever World Cup by beating the mighty West Indies in 1983. But unlike the 1983 edition where India were the underdogs, the hopes are sky high from the current side. Team India is one of the most dominating sides in world cricket at the moment.
India has won 56 of the 86 games they have played since the last World Cup and have the second-best win-loss ratio behind number one ODI side in the world England. The two-time winners are being widely tipped as the favourites because of their well-balanced team which comprises of world-class batsmen and world class bowlers. Well, only time will tell whether India manage to live up to the expectations or not.
And ahead of the commencement of the World Cup, Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela has wished India skipper Virat Kohli and his predecessor MS Dhoni all the best. Both Kohli and Dhoni will have to play a big role if India is to win the World Cup as Rautela tweeted
“Wishing @msdhoni & @imVkohli all the best !!!! 🇮🇳”
Kohli’s success mantra
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had advised the teams to guard against complacency if they are to go the distance in the competition. Citing the example of the home series against Australia, the 30-year old said that the teams with more passion and character will have the upper hand.
“If a team on a given day, gets together against an experienced side, and believes more than they can win, it can happen,” Kohli said at the captains’ meet on Thursday (May 23). “We learnt a lot from the Australia series. We were 2-0 up and we thought we are going to win one out of three, but they showed more passion, more character and more determination than us. Australia enjoyed every moment which we took a lot of learning from. If you play anyone in the World Cup, you have to have that passion and that commitment.”
India will play their warm-up games against New Zealand and Bangladesh on May 25 and 28 respectively before starting their campaign against South Africa on June 5 in Southampton.
