It was a batting delight when India faced Australia in Match 14 of the World Cup 2019. After choosing to bat first, the Indian batsmen went all guns blazing at the Australian bowlers and got them scratching their heads. While there were many highlights from this innings of India, the one from Virat Kohli after MS Dhoni smashed a six over the ropes caught the eye of one and all.

The wicketkeeper-batsman came into bat at number five in the 46th over after Hardik Pandya lost his wicket. Thus, MS Dhoni didn’t have much time to settle in. He had to smash big ones right from the start of his innings and he didn’t disappoint. He continued with his good hitting form from the IPL and was a delight to watch.

Virat Kohli stands his ground in absolute awe

Dhoni hit three fours and a six during the course of his innings where he scored 27 runs off runs 14 balls at a strike rate of nearly 193. It was when he hit that six, the Indian skipper standing at the non-striker’s end stood in absolute awe. Virat couldn’t believe how hard Dhoni hit that shot as it went miles into the stands. He took a few strides initially for the run.

But then, he soon realized that he didn’t have to move an inch as the ball was easily traveling over the ropes. Kohli was left stunned and stood his ground with his mouth wide open. MS Dhoni, who was ball-watching initially, turned towards the non-striker as they shared a bromance moment. Kohli even used the cuss word as said ‘b*h*n**od’ as he looked towards the 37-year-old. The two shared a good laugh before they proceeded to play the next ball.

India put up a mammoth total of 352/5 in this match. Kohli, who started the tournament on a slow note, was back to his usual best and struck 82 runs. Meanwhile, it was Shikhar Dhawan who was the best on the day. The left-hander registered his 17th ODI century and got out after he scored 117 runs as he tried to accelerate the proceedings. Hardik Pandya also played a great cameo in this match.
