World Cup 2019: WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has a message for MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Team India
He mentioned the names of skipper Virat Kohli and experienced wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni in the video.
The Indian cricket team finally started off their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign with a convincing win over South Africa in Southampton on June 5. The Indian team is considered to be favorites to win the tournament along with hosts England and defending and five-time champions Australia. The Men in Blue enjoy a very large fan base anywhere in the country and this seems to have attracted another well-known entertainment sport-based company.
The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has been always popular in the country and they are trying to increase their fan base in India and they are assuring that by getting involved with the game of cricket. Recently, one of their managers Paul Heyman had an interesting banter with the ICC for using his catchphrases for MS Dhoni and many WWE wrestlers have been taking part in IPL pre-match shows over the years. Now one of their topmost superstars has sent across wishes for the Indian team for their World Cup journey.
WWE Champion Kofi wishes Dhoni, Kohli and Team India
WWE India recently, uploaded a video, after Team India got the better of South Africa in their first encounter of the tournament. The video saw reigning WWE Champion Kofi Kingston sending across a very lovely message to the Indian team and its members. He mentioned the names of skipper Virat Kohli and experienced wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni in the video.
The message in the video read, “This is your WWE Champion here Kofi Kingston with a very important message for the Boys in Blue. That’s right – Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni and the rest of Team India. I want to wish you the utmost luck in the ICC Cricket World Cup, baby! Do it!”
Proteas had batted first and scored 227 runs thanks to contributions from Chris Morris, Faf du Plessis and JP Duminy with the bat. But they couldn’t do much as Yuzvendra Chahal picked four wickets, while Bumrah assisted ably. Though the Indian team lost two early wickets in the chase, that of Dhawan and Kohli; Rohit Sharma continued with an unbeaten century while receiving support from KL Rahul and MS Dhoni, where Hardik Pandya put on the finishing touches.
India will take on Australia in their next World Cup match this Sunday and South Africa, with three losses in three matches, will face West Indies on June 10.
