The much-awaited schedule for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is finally out as the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and the ICC (International Cricket Council) jointly released the complete fixtures in Mumbai on Tuesday, June 27. The tournament will be hosted by India for the fourth time and the world cup fever will be spread across ten cities in the cricket-crazy nation.

The tournament will begin on October 5 with the opening game between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The final of the competition will also be played at the same venue on November 19.
Ten teams will be contesting in the cricket carnival, out of which eight have been finalised while the remaining two spots will be taken by the winner and runner-up of the ICC Cricket World Cup qualifiers being played in Zimbabwe.
Each team will play against all nine oppositions in a round-robin format and the top four will qualify for the semi-finals. The 45 league matches and the three knockouts will be played in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune over a span of 46 days.
A total of six league matches will be played during the day in the tournament, which will all start at 10:30 am IST while the remaining games will be day-night affairs starting at 2:00 pm IST.
Ahead of the tournament, the teams will play warm-ups in Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati between September 29 and October 3. India will start their campaign with a game against the five-time champions Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The most awaited match of the tournament i.e. India vs Pakistan will be played on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The other highly anticipated clashes of the tournament include Australia vs South Africa on October 13 in Lucknow, and Pakistan vs Australia on October 20 in Bengaluru.
