West Indies will now face England in the World T20 2016 finals after defeating the hosts India in the semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium. After been put into bat, India posted 192/2 on the board with Virat Kohli leading from the front yet again with openers contributing well this time. Later India started well with the ball but Lendl Simmons, along with Johnson Charles and Andre Russell took the game away from the favorites by some insane batting. They lost only 3 wickets in the chase and won with 2 balls to spare. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.:

1 – For the first time India have lost in semis of the World T20.

2 – Number of matches India lost in the tournament. This is the first time since 2010 India have lost more than 1 match in an ICC event.

2 – Number of times Virat Kohli has scored 75+ and picked up a wicket in same T20I. No other Indian has done even once.

3 – Virat Kohli now has 3 consecutive fifties in knockout games of WT20s. He scored 75* vs South Africa in 2014 semi-final, 74 vs Sri Lanka in 2014 final and 89* vs West Indies in this game.

3 – Each of India’s first three wickets had a 60+ partnership. This is the first time in T20Is, a team innings had three 60+ stands.

3 – Number of occasions on which a bowler conceded a six on a free-hit in this tournament. 2 of those 3 have come in today’s game.

4 – Number of times West Indies played a semi-final game across all tournaments in all formats against India. On all the 4 occasions, West Indies ended on winning. Interestingly, all the 4 times they were chasing.

5 – Number of wickets that fell in this game. Only the 2nd time 5 or less wickets fell in a full 20 overs T20I game.

5 – Number of T20Is matches India have played with the same XI before this game. They last changed their XI was in Asia Cup final after resting their key players against UAE in the league game.

5 – For the first time in T20Is, five 60+ run stands have been recorded in a T20I.

5.94 – Economy rate of Ashish Nehra in this WT20. He is only the 2nd Indian pacer and 8th in overall to concede less than 6 runs an over in a WT20 edition.

6 – Number of players scored 40+ in this game, the joint most in a T20I. Other instance of six batsmen scoring 40+ was in Ireland-Netherlands game at Sylhet in 2014 WT20.

7 – Number of consecutive semi-finals India won till 2014 in ICC tournaments. Now they have lost for the 2nd time in a row.

10.77 – Partnership run rate of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli pair in T20Is. This is best for any pair with more than 300+ runs between them.

12 – Number of fifty plus scores Virat Kohli has recorded in World Cups. Among Indians, only Sachin Tendulkar (21) has more. He is tied with Yuvraj Singh, who also has 12. Rohit Sharma is next in this list with 9.

16 – Number of fifty plus scores Virat Kohli has in T20Is, the most by any player.

19 – Number of wickets Jasprit Bumrah has picked in the 16 T20Is he has played so far. All the 19 wickets are of 19 different batsmen.

27 – Number of dot balls India played during their innings. These are the joint fewest dot balls played by a team in a T20I innings and the most for India.

39 – Number of fifty plus scores Virat Kohli has in overall Twenty20 cricket. Only Rohit Sharma (40) has more than Kohli in this format among Indians.

40+ – Runs conceded by Pandya, Jadeja, and Bumrah. This is only the 2nd time 3 or more Indian bowlers conceded more than 40 runs in a T20I. In 2015 at Dharamsala vs South Africa, 4 Indian bowlers conceded over 40 runs.

62 – India’s opening stand in this game. First time after 10 games, India managed to put on a 50+ opening stand in T20Is.

65 – Lendl Simmons’ lowest score in a knockout game in Twenty20 format in India. He scored 67, 65 and 68 respectively for Mumbai Indians in IPL over 2014 and 2015 seasons with all of them coming against India. In this game he scored an unbeaten 82.

75 – Virat Kohli now has 5 scores of 75+ in T20Is, the joint 3rd most by any player. Only Chris Gayle (8) and Mahela Jayawardene (6) have more 75+ scores than Kohli in this format.

76.84 – Percentage of runs came in boundaries for West Indies. They 146 runs in boundaries. Among the 175+ team totals, this 76.84% is the 3rd highest in a team innings in T20Is.

77.60 – Runs per wicket scored in this game. This is the highest ever rate in a T20I. Previous highest was 75.20 in a T20I between West Indies and Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2012.

82* – Runs scored by Lendl Simmons in this game. This is his highest T20I score.

89* – Runs scored by Virat Kohli in this game. This is the 2nd highest score in a knockout game in T20Is. Tillakaratne Dilshan scored 96* vs West Indies in 2009 WT20.

193 – Target chased by West Indies. This is the 2nd highest target chased by West Indies in T20Is and also the 2nd highest against India. Now this is the highest successful run chase in a World T20 knockout overhauling Australia’s 192 in 2010 WT20.

250 – Virat Kohli is now the first player to score 250+ runs in two different editions of the tournament.

273 – Runs scored by Virat Kohli in this tourney. These are the most by any batsman in Super 10s/knockouts stages of this WT20 so far.

279 – Virat Kohli’s batting average in knockout games in T20Is. His average in knockout games of World T20s is 238.

425 – Runs scored by Rohit Sharma in T20Is in 2016. He became the 6th player to score more than 400 runs in 2016 in T20Is.

519 – Number of fours Virat Kohli has in Twenty20 cricket. Among Indians, only Gautam Gambhir (531) has more.

625 – Runs scored by Virat Kohli in T20Is in 2016. He became the first player to score more than 600 runs in a calendar year in T20Is. No other player has even scored 500 in a year.

1003 – Runs scored by Rohit Sharma in World Cups. He became the 7th Indian to score more than 1000 runs in World Cups [CWC and WT20s].

1364 – Runs scored by Virat Kohli in World Cups. Among Indians, only Sachin Tendulkar with 2278 has more than Kohli.

1996 – Last time 2 Mumbai players opened the batting for India in an International game at Wankhede was way back in 1996 Titan Cup Final vs South Africa.
