World T20 2016: New Zealand v Australia – Statistical Highlights
New Zealand continued to defeat the opposition by tactics as they now defeated Australia by 8 runs at Dharmasala. New Zealand brought in only 1 pacer compared to what was their XI in previous game after electing to bat first. Despite a great start given by openers, New Zealand middle order couldn’t convert it. Late strikes by Elliot could only help NZ to post a total of 142/8 in 20 overs.
Australia also got off to a great start only till Williamson brought in spinners into the play. Australia kept losing wickets at regular stages by Maxwell and Marsh brought down the equation to 27 off last 18 balls. But tight bowling from Sodhi, McClenaghan and Anderson in last 3 overs produced a close win for New Zealand. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.
