The new captain in command for Sri Lanka Dinesh Chandimal at the toss said: “Unfortunately Angelo [Mathews] and Dushmaanth [Chameera] were injured in the last game. We have played some good cricket. We have made two changes, Lakmal and Jayasuriya in. We are really disappointed, but Overall we have played good cricket, but we haven’t had the luck in the last two games. We are looking to win this game.”
The Protea skipper Faf du Plessis said: “We are going to have a bowl. It’s my first toss win this tournament. We are a team that chase well and hopefully we can do that today. Looks a bit of green, in India it looks worse than it actually is. The conditions always change in India. Mumbai is a great batting facility and Nagpur was slow. We have been slow in adapting, we lost a couple of wickets up front at Nagpur, we should rectify that. We have had either really good bowling performances or really good batting performances. We haven’t put together a complete performance. We have three changes. Kagiso is resting and Dale comes back. Morris has a back stiffness, Abbott in. Behardien in for Rossouw.”
South Africa have won the toss and have opted to bowl first in the last league match of the World T20 2016.
Craig Cumming at the pitch report said, “Beautiful conditions. We are not playing on the same pitch. This is a new surface. There is plenty of green grass and a lot of cracks. The ball will be skid on. 160 will be a good score. Dew will also come into play. It looks a pretty good pitch,”
