World XI prefers Mohammad Yousuf over Inzamam-ul-Haq as a runner

Back in their time, Mohammad Yousuf and Inzamam-ul-Haq were considered two pillars of the mighty Pakistani batting lineup, which featured some of the greats of the game. The duo of Yousuf and Inzamam has been the cause of a nightmare for many well-known bowlers. But if there is one aspect in which both of them were below average, it was running between the wickets. But if the World XI side had to pick a runner between the two, they would rather opt for Yousuf than Inzi.

International cricket returned to Pakistan with the World XI side touring the country. Keeping the on-field things aside, they had a great time off the field and indulged in some fun games and quizzes. But they couldn’t hold on their laughter when they were asked- Say runners are allowed again, who would you choose to run for you if you are injured, Inzamam of Yousuf?

While Inzi was at the receiving end of many hilarious run-outs, Yousuf wasn’t very smooth between the wickets either, which laid a new challenge in front of the international cricketers. Thisara Perera couldn’t stop laughing and went with Yousuf while Ben Cutting decided that he would rather have Inzamam as his runner.

Grant Elliot had a different reason for choosing Inzamam, as he mentioned: “Inzamam because he knows a lot about run-outs, so he can use that experience.” While Hashim Amla opted for Yousuf, his countrymate David Miller and Imran Tahir went the other way with Inzi. Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal and former English skipper Paul Collingwood went with Yousuf.

Bailey and Sammy’s hilarious reply

While the rest of the cricketers picked their choice without any fuss, Darren Sammy and George Bailey’s replies were hilarious. The big Windian said that even if he was injured, he would be faster than both Yousuf and Inzamam, but given that he has to pick one, he would go with the former. While Sammy made a call, Bailey wasn’t ready for it, and straightaway said that he would prefer retiring hurt than to choose any one among the two to be a runner. Hence, Yousuf was declared the winner of the competition, by a margin of 5-4.
