The captain of the Indian cricket team and arguably the best batsman in the world right now, Virat Kohli, has made a habit of rewriting record books in almost every match from the last few years, thanks to his impeccable dedication towards this beautiful game. Another record was created recently, but strangely enough, Kohli had nothing to do with creating this record, as this time his fans, following their idol, did it!

Virat Kohli’s fans in Mumbai gathered at the Seawood Grand Central Mall in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, and formed a spectacular clay lamp (diya) mosaic of him, just days before this year’s Diwali. While the work, as a whole, looks stunning, Virat’s beard has been formed very intricately in the mosaic.

The world’s largest clay lamp mosaic having Kohli’s face on it, has not been made without a reason. The captain and undoubtedly the most important member of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, became the fastest batsman to complete 10,000 runs in One-Day cricket in the world after he reached to his 37th ton in ODIs in the second ODI against the Windies at Visakhapatnam.

Before Kohli, former cricketer & batting legend Sachin Tendulkar held this record. Sachin had taken 259 innings to get to his 10,000 runs, while Virat Kohli, former England captain Michael Vaughan’s G.O.A.T., got to the milestone in just 205 innings.

Here’s the video:

Virat Kohli also became the first Indian to score three centuries in three consecutive innings in ODI cricket, after he scored tons in the first three matches of the ongoing ODI series against Windies. It will be interesting to see if he signs off the series with yet another stunning performance with the bat for his country.

India are currently leading the 5-match ODI series 2-1. The fifth and final match will be played in Kerala’s capital Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
