Wriddhiman Saha and Murali Vijay ruled out of the Final Test
Wriddhiman Saha and Murali Vijay ruled out of the Final Test: India will suffer a setback in the third test of the series against Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli’s men will be missing Wriddhiman Saha and Murali Vijay in the third test which starts from 28th August at Colombo.
As a matter of fact, Murali Vijay was left out of the first test due to his right hamstring problem. In the second test, after failing to perform in the first innings, he fought his way back well in the second innings and made a total of 82 runs. This aided India’s chances in the test to a considerable extent. But on a rather sad note, he is once again suffering from the hamstring problem and as a result of which he will miss the conclusive test of the series.
Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Saha has been instrumental with the bat in the second test and showed decent amount of maturity both with his keeping and batting in the series so far. As a result of an injury, he is ruled out of the final test. Saha had picked up the injury on the lower right hamstring during the course of the second test at P Sara Oval.
Naman Ojha has been called in as the replacement for Wriddhiman Saha in the third test and he will be keeping the stumps. Also, Karun Nair will replace Murali Vijay in the final test.
The Second Test is poised really well with Sri Lanka requiring another 341 runs in the final day of the test to clinch the series victory. On the other hand, India will be looking to clinch the eight remaining wickets of Sri Lanka to make their way to level the series.
