The wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha seems to be warming up for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has slammed a stunning 20-ball century while playing in the JC Mukherjee Trophy, the local T20 tournament in Kolkata. Saha has been snapped up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for this season and this knock has surely come at the right time for the man with the gloves behind the wicket. However, the franchise would be delighted after knowing that one of their players in such a stunning form ahead of the season.

SRH had shelled out a whopping amount of Rs. 5 Crore earlier in January during the mega-auction to hand over a contract to Saha. Though he is way behind in the pecking order to feature in India limited overs side, his T20 exploits are well known to the world. He had played exceedingly well for Kings XI Punjab in 2014 and interestingly his scores were brilliant whenever he batted at the top of the order.

Saha slammed 14 sixes

Wriddhiman Saha featured for Mohun Bagan in the ongoing local T20 tournament against B.N.R Recreation Club on Saturday. His team first restricted their opponents to a middling and a below-par total of 151 for the loss of 7 wickets. Mohun Bagan, anyways, were expected to gun down the total but not in the manner which they eventually did. Saha opened the innings for his team surprisingly with his skipper Subhomoy Das and just tonked the ball to all the parts of the ground.

Saha smashed 102 runs off just 20 deliveries out of which he hit boundaries of 18 balls (14 sixes and 4 fours). Mohun Bagan chased down the total only in 7 overs courtesy his trailblazing innings and also sealed the contest with 10 wickets in hand. The knock is a timely one for him as it will force his franchise to sit up and take notice and it will be interesting to see if he will be promoted up the order during the tournament.
