Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha has been under the scrutiny since the last couple of matches. Former Indian wicket-keeper Kiran More has come in defense of Saha. Talking to Sportstar, More remarked that it is only a matter of time that Saha bounces back. Wriddhiman Saha has dropped a few crucial catches in the ongoing England series thus far.

Saha dropped a couple of catches in the Rajkot Test. Umesh Yadav was the bowler who had created the half chances but Saha let them slip. In the second Test too, Saha missed out on a crucial stumping on Ben Stokes. Stokes went on to add some handy runs for his team later on. With the bat too, Saha has played rash shots and has been seen giving away his wicket easily.

Defending the missed stumping chance, Kiran More quoted that Saha was watchful at that moment. He missed the stumping because his focus was on Ben Stokes and not on the ball. He quoted, “Saha is a very good wicket-keeper but he made one mistake today. He was watching the batsman Stokes and not the ball. This is why he could not complete the stumping.”

More further he remarked that Wriddhiman Saha is undoubtedly the best wicket keeper batsman in the country at the moment. No wonder why he is the playing eleven of the national Test side. More cited his own example and said that all players go through such phases. He added that Saha will surely bounce back soon and prove his mettle for the side. He quoted it to be a mental game more than anything else.

“He is the best wicket-keeper in the country and such a useful batsman. I am sure he will come out of it. I have been through these phases myself. At this level, it’s a very mental game,” quoted Kiran More.
