India and New Zealand are set to face off each other in the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship final at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton from June 18 to June 22. While India only had the opportunity to warm themselves up through an intra-squad game, New Zealand are fresh after a 1-0 win over hosts England in the recently-concluded two-match Test series.

Both the teams have also announced their 15-member squads respectively, while a final XI will only be named on the day of the summit clash. Trimming down the strength of the original 20-member squad, India dropped five players with Axar Patel, KL Rahul, Shardul Thakur, Mayank Agarwal and Washington Sundar failing to get a go-ahead.

Earlier on 15th June, New Zealand announced their 15-member squad, dropping Doug Bracewell, Jacob Duffy, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, and Mitchell Santner. While the Indian team has only two spinners in Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, New Zealand have only Ajaz Patel.
