Yasir Shah suspended for breaching ICC Anti-Doping Code

Pakistani bowler Yasir Shah has been charged with an anti-doping rule violation under the ICC Anti-Doping Code as announced by the International Cricket Council. The sample Yasir provided in an in-competition test, which was conducted on 13 November 2015, was found to contain the presence of chlorthalidone, a Prohibited Substance which appears in Section 5 of the WADA Prohibited List (in the category of Specified Substances).

In accordance with the ICC Anti-Doping Code, pending the outcome of the disciplinary process, Yasir has been provisionally suspended. The matter will now be dealt with in accordance with the process set down in the Code, and until such time as the process is resolved, the ICC will make no further comment on this matter.

The classical leggie became the quickest Pakistani bowler to 50 Test wickets by getting there in just 9 matches. He has played 12 Tests and already picked up 76 wickets in just 12 Tests. Shah picked up 3 consecutive five-wicket hauls in 3 Tests against Sri Lanka. Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne had praised him to no end.

In his home district, Yasir Shah is highly regarded as a star cricketer and also for being a fine human being. After winning laurels for the country by achieving a number of records in his brief career in international cricket, he has recently started playing a role in improving law and order and settling disputes in his native Swabi district. As per reports he has been made a member of the Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) in Swabi where he has promised to give time to settle disputes between rivals and ensure peace.
