The cricketers have often trained hard to get the best results for their teams at the highest level. However, in the recent times, the emphasis that the players have been putting on the fitness factor has increased manifold. The last few weeks have seen a lot of news flooding the media about the Yo Yo test. Gone are the days when mere bowling or batting could guarantee a player a spot in the playing eleven.
Now, the onus is on the fielding aspect too, which includes some serious and rigorous training sessions. Recently, the members of team Pakistan had a Yo Yo test too. The test basically is a set of rigorous training drills which is conducted by the team trainer. Usually a player, or a group of players, are called at random and are asked to undergo the rigorous trainings. This is done to check the fitness levels of the cricketers.
As per the social media updates of a renowned Pakistan journalist, Mohammad Rizwan topped the yo yo test that was conducted during a recent training session of team Pakistan. The journalist also uploaded a short video clip wherein the four participating players are seen doing some shuttle running in an indoor training center. Apparently, only these four players were picked at random to undergo the famous test during the session. Here is the video of the training test:
The league leaders
In another update, the journalist noted that the passing marks for the test was 17.3. Mohammad Rizwan, the winner of the yo yo test, secured 22.1 marks. Asad Shafiq, the promising middle order batsman scored the least marks among the four participating players in the test. He secured 21.1 marks. Mohammad Asghar and Shaan were the other two participating players. All the four players passed the test.
