‘How can I forget Sydney?, says Yograj Singh
The former India all-rounder who has achieved 21 best actor awards in his celebrated career also made it a point to visit the Sydney Cricket Ground. Singh reckoned that it was his first visit Down Under after a period of 39 years. He also went on to reminisce about the knock that his son Yuvraj Singh played at this very venue fifteen years ago against Australia.
In that game, Yuvraj had scored a swashbuckling 139 and with VVS Laxman (106) to take India to 4-296. However, the Men in Blue went on to lose that game (by 2 wickets) after Brett Lee smoked Laxmipathi Balaji for a six in the final over.
“This was my first visit to Australia after 39 years. How can I forget this ground? Sydney was a venue where my son (Yuvraj Singh) and VVS Laxman scored 139 and 106 (not out) runs and India had won the ODI match against Australia by two wickets (2004)”, said Yograj Singh.
