The popular Bollywood actor, on Tuesday, was diagnosed with lung cancer and it was informed by Komal Nahta, a film trade journalist. On August 8, Dutt was admitted to the hospital after he complained of breathlessness. He was discharged a day later after he was tested negative for COVID-19. After the diagnosis, Dutt was devastated, a close friend of his mentioned.

Dutt to fly to the US

The 61-year-old will now travel to the United States of America (USA) for treatment. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well- wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!”

After the news broke, personalities from across the country dropped in wishes for the renowned actor. Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian all-rounder, also sent in his wishes for Dutt, also the son of the legendary Late Sunil Dutt.

Yuvraj could very well understand the position Dutt is in. Back in 2011, the now 38-year-old Singh was diagnosed with cancer during the World Cup in the Indian subcontinent. The southpaw became the Player of the Tournament, but life had a tough road ahead of him.

He not only recovered from cancer, but also made his return for India. He also runs his foundation YouWeCan, a non-profit organisation for the well-being of people suffering from cancer.
