You can proudly hold your heads high, tweets Sachin Tendulkar for SRH team
Kane Williamson led the side really well and were the deserved finalists.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the title clash at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. It was Shane Watson who got better of them on the night of the final and despite trying to the best of their ability, they couldn’t win the tournament. But their performance throughout the season was absolutely praiseworthy and the Orange Army has no reason to feel bad after the loss. Even the former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar feels that the Sunrisers should hold their heads high and termed them as the quality team.
Cricket is a team sport and the Sunrisers time and again proved it on the field. Their bowling defended the low targets at will and made up for the failure of the batting departments. The strongest bowling line-up of the tournament defended the scores of 118, 132, 146 and 151 very easily. They were also bound to fail at some stage and when they did, their batting made amends by gunning down the totals in excess of 170 likes a boss. It was a total team effort from them and were unfortunate to be at the wrong end when it mattered the most.
Sachin’s heartfelt message
Sachin Tendulkar went on to highlight their team effort is consolation message for the Orange Army. No wonder they were a quality team and the Master felt that they should be proud of themselves for their achievements. Apart from Kane Williamson, there were no individual awards for any SRH but they were still one of the finalists which prove that it was a total teamwork and proper management of the players.
Sachin took to Twitter and consoled the runners-up of the season in the best possible manner. “Hard luck @SunRisers. You really played well, displayed quality teamwork and thoroughly deserved to be in the finals. You can proudly hold your heads high,” his message for them read.
