"You have to be with us and not in the nets," Patrick Farhat told Barinder Sran
He was seen bowling with nice pace in the nets at Mohali and also had a talk with the Indian team physio Patrick Farhat regarding the fitness regimes.
A different journey has phased out for left-arm pacer Barinder Sran after making his One-Day International debut against Australia in 2016. He has seen many ups and downs in his short career so far. Sran was invited to bowl in the nets to the Indian batters before the second ODI against Sri Lanka at Mohali. He is surely aiming to make a comeback and represent his country once again and being a left-armer gives him that additional edge.
The 25-year old first impressed everybody with his performance at the domestic level following which he was granted a debut in the ODI series in Australia in 2016. But he failed to pick wickets and stay economical thus making little impact and giving the team management fewer reasons to retain him in the team.
Then in IPL 2016, he was a key member of the champion side Sunrisers Hyderabad in the whole tournament bowling both in the powerplay and crucial death overs. Thus the fast bowler earned his spot in the limited-overs tour to Zimbabwe, just after the conclusion of the tournament.
Injuries and dips in performances
Barinder was greatly impressive in the Zimbabwe series and he also recorded the best figures for a bowler in his debut T20 international game. But then he struggled with some injuries and dip in performances even in domestic cricket. He has overall played 6 ODIs and 2 T20s in which he has claimed 7 and 6 wickets respectively, including a 4-wicket haul in the T20I against Zimbabwe in 2016.
He was seen bowling with nice pace in the nets at Mohali and also had a talk with the Indian team physio Patrick Farhat regarding the fitness regimes. Farhat mentioned that Sran needs to be with the team and not in the nets. He also spoke about the fast bowler’s fitness and told him to work harder on his skills to make a strong case for the comeback into this Indian team.
“You have to be with us and not in the nets. You have to work harder on your fitness to be get back stronger,” said Farhat talking to left-arm pace bowler.
