India’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is in terrific form with the willow ever since the four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia took place. Despite warming the bench in the first Test match, Pant made a comeback in the Playing XI in the second game and ended up as the highest run-getter for India with 274 runs. 

He was also the wrecker-in-chief for the hosts in the third and fourth Test matches as his sublime knocks of  97 off 118 and unbeaten 89 off 138 respectively helped India retain the elite Test trophy. The 23-year-old carried his wonderful form in the four-match Test series against England too as he emerged as the third-highest run-getter after Joe Root and Rohit Sharma.

The same was followed by Rishabh weaving magic with the willow and playing some fearless cricket in the five-match T20I series and three One Day Internationals which helped India register victory over the visiting England across all three formats.

The celebrated Australian speedster Pat Cummins seemed impressed with the young Indian batsman as he lavished praises on Pant saying that he is always good to watch as during the Australia tour he did what “50 other players” must not have imagined.

Further, the KKR pacer expressed his desire of playing a fearless brand of cricket as Rishabh Pant as he believes that fans always tend to enjoy someone who is playing a completely different game than everybody else. Both Pant and Cummins will be up against each other once again during IPL 2021. While Pant will be leading Delhi Capitals, Cummins will be seen plying his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders.

“As a fan, you always tend to enjoy someone who is playing a completely different game than everybody else. They are fearless, you look at them and feel geez wish I could do that as well, geez he was Brave. So, I think in three recent series it was Rishabh Pant,” Cummins told Australian seamer Joshua Lalor in a show called ‘Morton Someday’.

“You just got to say well done when someone plays like that, takes the game on and it comes off. You’ve probably got 50 other players who probably wouldn’t have taken the game on like that. He’s always good to watch,” Cummins added.
