'You should send positive vibes out of dressing room' - Inzamam-ul-Haq not happy with Misbah-ul-Haq's gestures during the match

The Pakistan tour of England is not reaping good results for the Men in Green as they first lost the three-match Test series by 1-0 and are now lagging behind in the T20I series after the second game. The first T20I was washed away by rain while England clinched the second match as they easily chased the target of 196 thanks to Eoin Morgan and Dawid Malan.

Meanwhile the visuals of Pakistan’s coach Misbah-ul-Haq sitting visibly upset during the match are being criticised by the former players. During England’s innings, when their openers reached a score of 65-0 in the first six overs, the cameras panned on a disheartened Misbah sitting in the dressing room with his hands on his head.

Nevertheless, Pakistan’s former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq didn’t like these gestures from the head coach and he slammed Misbah for sending negative vibes to the players. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Inzamam criticised the coach saying that till fifth over we were in a good position as the opposite team still had to score 155-160 runs. However, Misbah’s animated reactions depicted that something really bad had happened.

“During the fifth over of England innings, when Pakistan were bowling their Powerplay overs when they had conceded 40-45 runs, the camera kept showing Misbah and he had his hands on his head, which suggested that something really bad had happened,” the 50-year-old said.

“There were still 155-160 runs to go, the match could have gone in anyone’s favour, but you are sending a message that suggests that you have done something wrong. You can have a proper discussion after the game, but if you respond like this during the match, then this will have a bad effect on the team.” he added.

Only positive vibes should go out from the dressing room, says Inzamam-ul-Haq

Further in the video, the former chief selector compared Misbah-ul-Haq’s with former coach Mickey Arthur who was sacked from his position after the World Cup 2019. Inzamam-ul-Haq revealed that earlier also there were the same complaints regarding Mickey as many players had reached out to him explaining how the reactions of the coach affected the players in a negative way.

“Mickey Arthur used to respond in the same way. Whenever I used to go to watch series and talk to players, they used to complain a lot that Arthur’s similar antics affected them negatively. No matter what happens during the match, only positive vibes should go out from the dressing room. It’s very important. We are T20 champions. If we’re losing in that [format], it’s a cause of worry.” Inzamam concluded.
