'You should unfollow me then' - Jofra Archer shuts down a Twitter user who called the cricketer's tweet utter nonsense
Archer continues to keep himself busy on social media.
Jofra Archer and social media, especially Twitter, have a unique relationship. The cricketer’s old tweets have been going viral since the World Cup, which are eerily similar to current events. Not long ago, he was also involved in a heated banter with the former cricketer Tino Best during the first Test between England and the West Indies.
The pace bowler has had to face the wrath of social media at the same time. Only recently, he was subjected to racial abuse after breaching the ECB’s bio-secure protocol. Archer was in self-isolation then for five days and had to be tested negative for COVID-19 twice to be considered for the third Test. This time around or though, the pacer has come up with a fitting reply after a Twitter user termed his tweet as ‘utter nonsense’.
It happened when Jofra Archer was justifying his move to defend his best friend, and it was all going on in a different context. This is when a Twitter user stated he would get upset by watching such nonsense stuff on social media. He also took a dig at the pacer, telling him to grow up and reminding him that he plays for England at the international level.
“I think I’d get upset by social media if I engaged in utter nonsense such as this. Grow up, FFS. You’re on England duty,” the tweet read. The 25-year-old then simply asked the user to unfollow him in a fitting response. “Maybe you should unfollow me then?” Archer’s response read.
Here’s the tweet:
Jofra Archer key for England along with Stuart Broad
Meanwhile, England are in a race against time to win the third and final Test against the West Indies and regain the Wisden Trophy. After setting the target of 399 for the visitors on the third day and reducing them to 10/2, the fourth day was washed out completely. Stuart Broad is in great form, but it will be equally crucial for the hosts that Jofra Archer puts his hand up for the team. He picked only a solitary wicket in the first innings and has a more significant role to play now.
