'You will continue to inspire sportspersons forever' - Sachin Tendulkar offers his tributes to Don Bradman on his 113th birth anniversary

Even though more than 70 years have passed since his retirement, and two decades have passed since his death, Sir Don Bradman continues to generate a sense of awe in the world of cricket. In his illustrious career that lasted 52 Tests, the Australian batting legend scored close to 7000 runs.

But then, one number that allows Bradman to occupy an exalted pedestal is his Test batting average. The Australian legend averages a whopping 99.94 in Test cricket, and this is a feat that has no equal.

Bradman also plundered 29 hundreds, 12 double hundreds, and 2 triple hundreds in his illustrious career. And today, the cricketing world is celebrating his 113th birth anniversary.

And, another batting colossus, Sachin Tendulkar offered his tributes to ‘The Don’, on the occasion of his 113th birth anniversary. Tweeting a picture of himself with Bradman, Tendulkar stated that the Genius of Bradman is synonymous with excellence in sports.

Adding that Bradman will continue to inspire men and women forever, Tendulkar concluded his tweet by stating that he is thinking of the Australian legend on his birth anniversary.

“The folklore of Sir Don Bradman’s batting genius is synonymous with excellence in sports. You will continue to inspire sports women and men forever. Thinking of you, Sir Don on your birth anniversary,” tweeted Tendulkar.

Sachin Tendulkar is considered as one of the greatest batsmen that the game has ever seen. The ‘Little Master’ scored 34357 runs and a staggering 100 hundreds in an international career that spanned almost a quarter of a century. He is also the only cricketer to have played a whopping 200 Test matches as well. Tendulkar played his last Test match for the Indian side in November 2013 at Mumbai.

Also, on 27th August 1998, Sachin Tendulkar met the great Don Bradman on the occasion of his 90th birthday. Along with Tendulkar, even Australian spin bowling wizard Shane Warne also met Bradman as well.
