South Africa has had wicket keepers who were batting geniuses as well. After Mark Boucher who was probably one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in the world, AB de Villiers held the baton and in what fashion! And as he continues to lead the Proteas’s batting from the front, the world has unveiled a new gem in Quinton de Kock who can keep the wicket brilliantly as well as bat magnificently. Quinton captained the South Africa U-19 team in his early days but was later given a rest from the responsibility for him to concentrate more upon his batting. Soon after he began his career, he started getting attention of the cricket fraternity for his honed batting skills. At the age of 20, he became the first wicket-keeper batsman to score 3 successive centuries in the ODIs. In 2014 IPL auctions, he was bought for 3.5 crores by Delhi daredevils, the highest bid for any foreign wicket-keeper in IPL. He continues to spark with his performances and South Africa has indeed got some serious talent behind the stumps!
