Young Googlies- The Leg Spin Brigade
6. Devendra Bishoo (England):
After Lance Gibbs, Bishoo is the only consistent leg spinner to have played for the West Indies. He first caught the eye of the cricket fraternity in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Devendra Bishoo recently was in the headlines to deliver the ball of the 21st century to Australia’s Brad Haddin (A delivery that turned from 18 inches outside leg stump to hit the top of off) in the 1st test between West Indies and Australia; he bowled a ball similar to that of Shane Warne against Mike Gatting in 1993. Bishoo clearly possesses a lot of control over his leg breaks and after his comeback looks a lot more lethal.
