25-year-old Tom Bruce has managed to retain his place in the side after impressing quite a bit in recent times after becoming an integral part of the side following some impressive performances with the bat, something that has seen him impress quite a bit with both bat and ball. While there is already a player in the form of Mitchell Santner who has reveled in that particular position, but the fact is that Bruce certainly adds another dimension to the manner in which he plies his trade.
Speaking about his role in the side, Bruce went on to state that he was pleased with the opportunity to play ‘household’ names such as those present in the South African side at the moment in that case. He also went on to add that this might very well be ‘good fun’ to face up to their might at home.
“Obviously different countries present different challenges. With South Africa being the powerhouse they have been, they’ll be good. It’s an awesome opportunity, these guys are all household names,” Bruce said on Monday (February 13).
“I think quite a few of the younger South African guys will be playing in that first one, but it’ll be a good chance to see their bowlers. It’ll be good fun,” Bruce said.
