'Your barber dead?' – Andre Russell trolls Dinesh Karthik over his bushy beard in lockdown

Dinesh Karthik was all set to lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). But due to the lockdown after the COVID-19 pandemic, all he has been doing is spending time at home with his family. However, Karthik, who turned 35 a few days ago, hasn’t missed chances of catching up with his teammates, though through the online platforms.

Recently, he invited West Indies’ Sunil Narine and Andre Russell to his YouTube show. Both the Caribbean cricketers have been integral part of the Knights’ setup for quite a few years. During the convo, Russell, funnily, trolled Karthik over his beard, which has grown quite a bit.

Adding fun to the chat, Dre-Russ asked him if his barber was dead or he didn’t have the accessories. “DK what’s wrong with your barber. Your barber dead? “You are not allowed to get like razor blades and stuff?” Russell said to Karthik, who burst into a laugh.

You wanted to buy a helicopter: Karthik

The Tamil Nadu-born Karthik then told that it’s because Russell has been giving him headaches. “You want to bat higher up the order, you want to bowl with the new ball…next thing you want to captain also! What do I do then!” Karthik mentioned.

“People want to buy a car and you wanted to buy a helicopter,” Karthik added after which Russell couldn’t stop laughing, covering his face with his hands. However, Narine suggested his KKR skipper to keep the new look for this year’s IPL, which remains postponed indefinitely.

The official Twitter handle of the Knights uploaded the rib-tickling clip where all three of Russell, Narine and Karthik were seen, having fun.

Narine is currently the leading wicker-taker for KKR in the IPL with 122 scalps from 110 matches. He has also flourished as a batsman in the last couple of seasons. Russell has also been a brute force, courtesy his ability to smash sixes at will. The Jamaican has been more than effective with the ball as well. Karthik, on the other hand, has been a part of the Knight Riders after Gautam Gambhir left.
