Baroda all-rounder Yusuf Pathan exchanged sweets with the Jawans at the airport on the festive occasion of Diwali on Wednesday. However, this heart-warming gesture from the cricketer has won the hearts of his fans as Twitterati showered praises on him. He is currently busy in the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy and is representing his state Baroda. He is playing under the captaincy of his brother Irfan Pathan.
Yusuf, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has started the domestic season with a bang as he smashed twin tons in the opening game against Madhya Pradesh. But the batsman couldn’t back his strong performance in the next game against Andhra and scored only a solitary run across both the innings. Baroda needs to start winning soon and the form of the experienced lad remains key if they want to qualify to the next round.
Yusuf salutes Jawans
Diwali is being celebrated across the country in India on Wednesday and Yusuf Pathan decided to celebrate it with the Jawans at Baroda Airport. He exchanged sweets and acknowledged them for working even on holidays. He posted pictures of him spending some valuable time with the Jawans and captioned them with a message on Twitter which read, “Salute to the #jawans who are working even on the festival day. We exchanged sweets at the Baroda airport on the occasion of Diwali. #HappyDiwali.”
The fans who are always active on social media were quick to hail the cricketer for his sweet gesture. While some users wished him a very happy Diwali in reply, few absolutely loved his gesture and hailed him for being a true example. Yusuf is now enjoying a break of a couple of weeks before his team face-off against Tripura in a crucial Group C encounter.
