Veteran Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan came up with a humble and heartfelt message for his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. He had a sweet message to share with his fans and the members who have been associated with the franchise during his stay with the KKR. Yusuf recently played his 100th IPL match in the KKR outfit when he took the field against the Delhi Daredevils on April 28.
The 2017 edition of the IPL is his 7th year with the Knight Riders. Yusuf Pathan, who had started off his IPL career with the Rajasthan Royals, was brought on the KKR roster in the 2011 season. Since then, he has come a long way and has evolved as a much better and improved player. This year, he has shown great composure thus far to become a batting mainstay for the KKR camp in the middle order.
He started off on this note recalling the memorable journey that he has had thus far with KKR. He noted that the team has been backing him in all times and that has helped him to become a better player.
“I am very happy to have played my 100th match for the Kolkata Knight Riders. It has been quite a journey, there were the ups and downs but I found my team behind me supporting me each time to do well and backing my abilities,” he wrote.
He further exclaimed that he feels great to take the field for the purple and yellow. The players keep changing in the camp and being one of the constant makes him feel special. “It feels great to take field for the same team in 100 matches in a league where players are traded almost every year,” Yusuf Pathan remarked.
Speaking on the same lines, he thanked the team owners, the managers, the teammates and his captain Gautam Gambhir for having shown their faith and support in him. KKR team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan has often been very vocal in his support for the Baroda all-rounder.
“Thank you Shah Rukh Khan Bhai, Jay Mehta Sir, Juhi Chawla Mam, Venky Mysore Sir and Gautam and all my KKR teammates from the past and today for your support it wouldn’t have been possible without you guys. The BCCI and the IPL for providing a platform that has positively impacted a lot of careers and changed the game forever,” Yusuf wrote.
He posted the heartfelt note on the social media site Twitter. He added a brief caption to go with his message. Yusuf Pathan tweeted, “Grateful to each and everyone of you who wished me on the occasion today. Glad that @KKRiders won my 100th game with the team.”
