Yuvraj Singh brutally trolled for wearing the wrong jersey during the match against Windies
Though he didn't have a lot to contribute in the game, Yuvraj was trending and was trolled for the mistake he might have made unknowingly.
India defeated West Indies by a big margin of 105 runs in second One-Day International of the 5-match series. Men in Blue were invited to bat first again by the captain Jason Holder as he did in the 1st ODI which was marred by rain. Both the teams went unchanged in this game.
India, on the back of a superb and fluent century of Ajinkya Rahane, amassed 310 runs in stipulated 43 overs. Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli also scored half centuries and continued their excellent form. Windies in reply were never in the game and lost wickets at the regular intervals. Kuldeep Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were the shining lights for India with the ball. Shai Hope, the wicketkeeper-batsman, was the only one who fought for his team and scored a resilient 81 off 85 deliveries.
Yuvraj’s wrong jersey incident
Despite the huge victory, Twitterati was busy discussing the jersey worn by Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj came into the middle after the fall of Hardik Pandya’s wicket in the 35th over. As soon as he walked out to bat, fans were confused as they saw him wearing Champions Trophy jersey.
Though, Yuvraj could not score much as he was caught behind off Holder for just 14. He was seen wearing the correct jersey when India came to defend the total on the field in second innings.
All eyes were on him as the likes of Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are waiting in the wings for their turn. Kohli, in the post-match presentation also hinted that there would be changes for the third ODI. Yuvraj has not contributed much since his match winning performance against Pakistan in the opening group game of Champions Trophy. He could be the one to make way for Pant in the next ODI.
On Twitter though, Yuvraj was trending and was trolled for the mistake he might have made unknowingly.
Here’s how Twitterati reacted to this incident:
