Yuvraj Singh clears yo-yo test, in line for a comeback
He finished the test with a satisfactory result of 16.3 in the test.
Veteran Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh could see a potential comeback to the international scene yet again. In the last few months, there have been several news reports about Yuvraj fighting it out to make it back to the national setup. However, time and again, just before the squad for the Indian team was about to be announced, Yuvraj Singh failed to clear the yo-yo test.
This had come as a huge disappointment not only for the player himself but for his fans too. The fitness standards of the Indian team has been on the rise and it is needless to concede why the selectors only opt for the fittest cricketers to represent the Indian team. The yo-yo test is one such parameter that holds the key to determine the fitness level of an athlete.
Now, as per the recent reports, Yuvraj Singh has finally cleared the yo-yo test. He finished the test with a satisfactory result of 16.3 in the test. The cut off score to clear the test is 16.1. Interestingly, this comes at a time when the Indian team is about to be announced for the limited overs series against Sri Lanka and the South Africa tour.
Going by the performances, Yuvraj has been performing decently in the domestic cricket. In his previous ODI assignment with the Indian team, Yuvi had plundered his maiden 150 in international cricket in the limited overs. The news about Yuvraj clearing the yo-yo test was recently confirmed by a renowned Indian journalist on the social media platform Twitter.
Others clear the test too
Meanwhile, youngsters like Washington Sundar and Nitish Rana have also cleared the yo-yo tests. The two players took the test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Sundar had failed to clear the test in his previous attempt and is a happy man at the moment, having cleared it. He could be in line for an international call up too.
