Yuvraj Singh walked out to bat wearing Champions Trophy jersey in 2nd ODI against Windies
A lot of people were surprised to see Yuvi wear the CT jersey when he walked out to bat.
Yuvraj Singh has been a show stopper for India over the years in limited-overs cricket. From walking on the ramps to coming out to bat, he’s a stalwart who catches everyone’s attention and makes the world look at him with eager eyes. Such is the aura of this southpaw from Punjab, who made a special place for himself in the Indian cricket history.
But the eyebrows were raised when Yuvraj came out to bat on Sunday in the second ODI against West Indies for some peculiar reasons. He was out in the middle after Ajinkya Rahane was cleaned up just after he got to his hundred and as soon as he entered the ground, people were surprised to see Yuvi wearing the Champions Trophy jersey for this match.
That’s indeed a bit weird as the Indian management provides a new kit for every series and they barely use the same jersey which they wore the previous series. The reason for this is yet unknown but most probably he wore it by mistake.
Things haven’t quite gone the southpaw’s way in the first two ODIs as he has scores of 4 and 14 in the series thus far. With his place in the squad under the scanner, Yuvi needs to pile up some runs and justify captain Virat Kohli’s trust on him.
Trauma for the Caribbean bowlers, elation for the Indian batters
Indian batsmen clobbered the Windian bowlers to all parts in the 2nd ODI between the sides at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. After the rain reduced the game to 43 over per side, Indian openers once again laid a solid foundation with Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan notching up another 100-run stand.
Rahane eventually got to his hundred; his 3rd in ODIs and Virat Kohli’s masterful display of batting took India to a mammoth 310/5 in their quota of 43 overs. The Windians will find it difficult to even get anywhere close to the target.
Yuvraj corrected the mistake when he joined the team on the field as they huddled to defend the total. He was wearing the correct jersey this time!
