In spite of being frozen out of the Indian squad in recent times, southpaw Yuvraj Singh remains to be one of the biggest legends as far as the Indians are concerned. At the moment, the 35-year old is making a few telling performances at the domestic level while he is also providing his feedback on the captaincy of his good friend Virat Kohli.

Although Kohli is only the skipper when it comes to the Test match format, it seems quite clear that the Indian cricket team is going through somewhat of a renaissance of sorts. The fact that they are now back in the reckoning as the world number one Test team is indeed something that makes it a whole lot easier to make him the skipper of the ODI side as well in the near future.

Speaking about the same, Yuvraj Singh also went on to add that Kohli was one of the players who had matured quite drastically over the last few years.

When asked about his relationship with Kohli ever since the 2011 World Cup, he said, “Virat was then a kid… He’s mature now and has grown into a very fine batsman. He’s hit a good patch and this is the time for him to take India forward.

Yuvraj also went on to add that this particular England team was a much harder proposition to face when it came to playing them in Test cricket. “The team’s doing really well, away and at home. But England is tougher than the other teams we’ve faced this season,” he said.

Finally the 35-year old went on to add that he was still motivated to make an impact and make his case so that he could force a comeback into the Indian team in the near future. He said, “I am still motivated. I got a career-best 260 just weeks ago. I’m not through with the game.”
