Yuvraj Singh deserved to become the captain ahead of MS Dhoni: Yograj Singh
Yograj also blamed Dhoni for Rayudu's retirement.
Yograj Singh, every now and then, finds a way to slam MS Dhoni. After hitting out at him over his son Yuvraj Singh’s retirement, Yograj blamed the former India captain for Ambati Rayudu calling it quits as well. He has now taken a dig at Dhoni for being made the captain of the team ahead of Yuvraj and feels that his son deserved to be at the helm and not the wicketkeeper-batsman.
MS Dhoni was suddenly made the skipper of the team when the seniors decided to skip playing the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup. With not much pressure, he led the team in the event and India famously went on to win the title and soon, Dhoni was appointed the captain across all the formats. Under his excellent leadership, the Men in Blue attained glory winning the Champions Trophy and the World Cup as well.
But Yograj Singh has overlooked all these achievements and has accused MS Dhoni to force several players out of the side for his personal gains.
You will find a bad person in every field
Yograj Singh, while speaking to NNIS Sports, made it clear that his son Yuvraj Singh was much senior to MS Dhoni having the joined the team earlier and should’ve been given the responsibility to lead the side. “Yuvraj had the right to become the captain but you gave it to someone else who came to the team much later,” he said while also comparing Dhoni with a pauper.
The 61-year-old further went on to hope that India wins the ongoing World Cup and termed every Indian player as his son. “All the Indian cricketers are like my son just like Yuvi is. You will find a good and bad person in every field of life. I hope we win this World Cup,” Yograj further added.
Speaking on Ambati Rayudu‘s retirement, he took a direct dig at MS Dhoni calling him filth and also said that the Hyderabad cricketer took the decision in haste. “Rayudu, my son you took the decision in haste. Come out of retirement and show them what you are capable of. People like MS Dhoni will not remain forever, filth like these will not remain forever,” Yograj said.
