Yuvraj Singh expresses his delight as he gets back to Preity Zinta and Virender Sehwag
The all-rounder's ability to perform well in the T20 format has made him an interesting buy in the Auctions for KXIP.
Punjab’s very own all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has struggled in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, where he could not make a difference to the Punjab side. However, it did not affect the left-handed all-rounder as he was picked by Preity Zinta in the IPL Auctions 2018 for a meagre sum of Rs 2 crores.
The left-hander saw the tournament as a platform to get a good suitor in the IPL, which might land him a place in the Indian team. KXIP grabbed the all-rounder as his name ringed in the Auction Hall, with Preity Zinta going gaga over the return of her favourite player.
Earlier in the day, Zinta took to Twitter to express her delight over the return of Yuvraj Singh. The left-hander replied by saying that Zinta would get a good companion in his wife Hazel Keech. “Happy to be back at @lionsdenkxip I guess this year it’s about self-belief and pride! See u punjabiyon also my favourite team owner @realpreityzinta got you a very chatty partner @hazelkeech,” Yuvraj took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to express his delight.
An illustrious IPL career
Yuvraj was part of the title-winning Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in the past two seasons, where he played a few memorable innings before being thrown open in the IPL Auctions. However, the left-hander’s IPL career one has been a rather illustrious one in the past. Yuvraj has scored 2,587 across ten editions at an average of 25.61 while playing 120 matches.
Further, Yuvraj was eager to get back to Virender Sehwag in forming key tactics for the franchise and plotting the gameplay. “@virendersehwag look forward to some great strategies together with the legend!,” Yuvraj wrote in his tweet.
Yuvraj’s 12 fifties is what the KXIP fans could expect from the all-rounder, whose form in the recent years has deteriorated. However, the all-rounder’s ability to perform well in the T20 format has made him an interesting buy in the Auctions for KXIP.
