Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh fulfilled the wish of Angad Bedi, a Bollywood actor, by gifting him a cricket bat for his role of a cricketer in the upcoming film ‘The Zoya Factor’. Angad also took the opportunity to affirm that all the reports about his fall-out with Singh were wrong and thanked the latter for his support and love during his journey for the upcoming flick.
Angad, son of legendary Indian spinner Bishan Singh Bedi, will portray the role of an ex-cricket captain in the film who is replaced by the current captain played by Dulquer Salmaan. The film is based on a 2008 novel by the same name penned by Anuja Chauhan and also features Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. The shooting of the film is scheduled to begin in Mumbai by the end of September.
At the right time
Speaking about the bat gifted to him by the dashing Indian batsman, Angad said: “This is the YWC Bat (Yuvraj’s YouWeCan Foundation). They have come up with a special edition for cricket gear and I have been actually chasing Yuvraj for a long time to give me a bat. He had said when the time was right, he would gift it to me himself.” DNA reported.
“I am glad that he signed this bat personally for me because now that I am doing a project which is based on cricket, I think this is going to come really handy. I am going to use this during my practice sessions and also in the matches that I am going to play on the field at the same time which will also be showcased in the film.”
That Singh has always been a well-wisher for Angad, who played cricket at the junior level before changing tracks into acting, was also evident after his film ‘Pink’ released in 2016. Yuvi had also tweeted a photo of Angad’s shooting with actor Amitabh Bachchan from the sets of the film to express his happiness for his actor friend.
