The Indian cricketers share a great bond among themselves off the field. This camaraderie is often visible on the social media. The players take digs and shower wishes on one another every now then. Recently, Yuvraj Singh and Parthiv Patel engaged themselves in a similar exchange of words. Or rather it could be said that the prankster Yuvraj Singh did not miss an opportunity to hilariously troll his Indian teammate Parthiv Patel.

Parthiv got a little nostalgic on the social media recently. He posted an update about his Test debut for the Indian team. He shared a couple of pictures – one in which he is batting, and the other in which he is walking to the pavilion with the then Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. He added a caption to it as well, writing, “About 15 years ago. #testdebut.” Well, he received all kinds of replies to his Instagram post.

The fans flooded the post with their well wishing comments. But a certain Yuvraj Singh found it the ideal way to take a dig at his teammate. Yuvraj commented on the picture saying Parthiv looks like Dada’s (Sourav Ganguly’s) son. Yuvi certainly saw a lot of humor in the picture and so did his fans. It is nice to see such healthy exchanges between the players on the social media.

Emerging in the Ganguly era

Interestingly, both Yuvraj and Parthiv had made their international debuts under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly was renowned for reshaping and rebuilding a young Indian team then. Bot Yuvraj and Parthiv were the beneficiaries of the same.

While Yuvi took some time before getting into the Test team, Parthiv had his first international experience in the longest format. He was drafted in the Indian team during the 2002 India’s tour of England. It was almost 15 years ago when the young 17 year old Parthiv Patel had made his Test debut.
