Shubman Gill has not really managed to deliver as per expectations in the ongoing four-match Test series against England. Hopes were sky high from the youngster after his stunning performances in Australia. The Punjab star finished the series in Australia with 259 runs from 3 games with the help of two fifties including the 91-run knock in the fourth Test at the Gabba.
He, however, has failed to do well against England so far. Gill started the series on a promising note by playing knocks of 29 and 50 in the first Test. However, he has failed to perform in the same manner in the last two Tests. In the last four innings, he registered scores of 0, 14, 11, and 15 not out. With just one game left in the series, Gill will be eyeing a big score in the fourth and final Test.
With the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, and KL Rahul waiting in the wings, the right-handed batsman cannot afford more slip-ups. Few more failures could very likely make him lose his place in the Test team.

And as soon as Gill posted the tweet, Yuvraj, who is also the mentor of the youngster, decided to have some fun. Taking a hilarious dig at Gill’s poor shot selection in the first innings of the third Test, Yuvraj tweeted: “What a shot in the first innings, chitar ready.”
Talking about the game, India dismantled England to take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match series. Axar Patel starred with the ball, taking 11 wickets in the game. India now need to just draw the last game to win the series as well as book their place in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).
