Perhaps, the most followed game show by the country, Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati, saw the presence of Indian stalwart Yuvraj Singh and Vidya Balan during the season finale of the show.
Yuvi went on to win a sum of 25 lakhs while teaming up with the star from hit movies such as Kahaani, Parineeta and many other blockbusters. Yuvraj intended to fund the amount generated from the show to his foundation named ‘YouWeCan’.
During the start of the show, Yuvraj Singh broke down while talking in detail about the consequences he had to deal with after he was diagnosed with Cancer. However, being the noble man he is, during the period he was recuperating with the deadly disease, he initiated the idea of a foundation which would help people suffering from the terminal disease and also spread awareness about it.
“Being an athlete it was very difficult for me to accept. When you’re playing for 6-8 hours every day, you simply can’t believe you’ve cancer,” said Yuvraj during the show.
“I too was escaping from the same and I continued to play. Then the doctors told me if I continue to ignore my health then it’ll be difficult for you to survive,” further elaborated one of the best-limited overs cricketers ever produced.
“I thought the doctors are probably lying because I wanted to play and continued to neglect my health and then my condition deteriorated and so did my performance in the sport. With no alternative, I had to go for treatment,” concluded Yuvi and started sobbing. Vidya Balan was seen comforting Yuvraj while he was in tears.
