India began their ICC Champions Trophy 2017 by beating rivals Pakistan by a handsome margin of 124 runs. 35-year old all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was adjudged the Man of the Match, for his quickfire 53 runs from just 32 balls. Yuvraj’s innings allowed skipper Virat Kohli to take his time to settle down. At a time when a set batsman in form of Rohit Sharma was dismissed and Kohli was finding it difficult to keep the scoreboard moving, the Chandigarh-born played did an amazing job.

He made sure that the accelerator is pressed continually. After settling the scores with Pakistan in terms of head to head record in the ICC Champions Trophy, the Indian cricketers were seen enjoying themselves at a community dinner organised by the skipper Virat Kohli. Players were asked about the toughest bowler they had to face in their career. While former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni opted for Shoaib Akhtar, Yuvraj Singh chose Glenn McGrath.

Glenn was tough to face

When Yuvraj was asked about the toughest bowler had to face in his entire cricketing career, he revealed that the Australian Glenn McGrath troubled him when he was young. “Early days in my career I will say, Glenn McGrath. It was very hard to get away from his line. One of the greats of cricket and definitely tough to face,” was his honest reply.

The 47-year-old former Australian pacer has 563 Test wickets and 381 ODI wickets under his name. The Dubbo, New South Wales based ‘Pigeon’ has also picked up 20 T20I wickets. He has been part of Delhi Daredevils franchise in the Indian Premier League. His strength was that he had the ability to maintain an unremitting off-stump line, which is being praised by Yuvraj Singh.
