Yuvraj Singh has a special message for Usain Bolt
Usain Bolt is currently gearing up for the next edition of the prestigious IAAF World Athletics Championship and is looking to add more gold to his coveted cabinet before calling it a day on his career.
There would be very few people on this great planet who do not admire the champion Usain Bolt and one amongst those is Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Both the individuals have earned innumerable accolades and they’re widely reckoned as two of the best fighters in their respective fields.
Both these fan favourites came together in 2014 in Bangalore, where Bolt showed some of his cricketing skills and Yuvraj tried to sprint his way towards victory against the greatest ever sprinter. It turned out to be a disappointment for the Jamaican in the 100m (approximate) sprint as Yuvraj pipped him and won the race.
Yuvraj shared the video of that amazing contest on Instagram today and people are going gaga over it. “Looks like I’m the only man on this planet to beat u ever. Usain Bolt, your legacy will forever be unmatched. Go well legend cause you’re,” wrote Yuvraj.
Bolt had his revenge though
Around 6,000 people gathered that day at the Chinnaswamy Stadium to watch Usain Bolt in action. The legend didn’t disappoint as he managed to defeat Yuvraj and his team in a game of cricket, a perfect way to seek vengeance. He even spanked 45 off 19 balls, which included five sixes, three out of which came in Yuvraj’s bowling.
The first ever person to win six Olympic gold medals on the track, Bolt always had great admiration for the game of cricket and that is pretty much palpable. He’s always vocal when it comes to supporting the Caribbean cricket team and has a great personal connection with many cricketers. He apparently has great admiration for the legendary Sir Vivian Richards, the man who made many West Indians watch cricket just the way Sachin Tendulkar did in India.
The best part of this entire meet was Yuvi celebrating in vintage Bolt style and the champ gave a weird smirk in return.
