Yuvraj Singh to come out of retirement to be part of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 event; named in Punjab's probable 30 list

World Cup-winning ace all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is set to come out of retirement and ply his trade in the domestic circuit. He would come out of retirement to ply his trade in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. He has been named in the list of 30 probable members for next month’s Syed Mushtaq T20 event. The power hitter big adieu to the international arena of cricket in June 2019 but has decided to be back for the domestic circuit at the request of the Punjab Cricket Association Secretary.

Puneet Bali, Punjab Cricket Association Secretary, has approached him to resume playing for his home state. Yuvraj was an integral part of the team in 304 ODIs, 40 Tests, and 58 T20Is. He has been training at PCA Stadium Mohali for quite some time and also posted videos of his preparation on social media.

Talking about his participation in the foreign leagues, Yuvraj Singh went on to take part in the Global T20 league in Canada after hanging his boots for India. In the same light, left-arm pacer Barinder Sran who was dropped from Punjab’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad has been named in the probable list. The BCCI has decided to stage the Syed Ali Mushtaq Trophy, the national T20 championship from January 10. The events would be held inside a bio-secure bubble across six venues. Teams have been asked to assemble to their hubs by January 2.

Talking about recent developments in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, ace batsman Ambati Rayudu has also been signed by the Andhra team to represent the state in the upcoming prestigious event. He has been part of the side in the 2005-06 season as well.
