Yuzvendra Chahal feeling 'lonely' as Rohit Sharma is dearly missing his wife and daughter in New Zealand
The leg-spinner could be very well on the flight to the World Cup starting in May.
Ace Indian batsman Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh are quite active on social media and time and again, their posts revealing their mutual love and admiration create buzz. The couple recently had their first child – a daughter – because of which Rohit skipped the final Test against Australia in Sydney earlier this month and returned only ahead of the ODI series, slamming a breath-taking hundred in the first game.
The 31-year-old is currently touring New Zealand with the Indian side and recently posted a picture on Instagram saying he is missing his wife. “Miss my @ritssajdeh”, the limited-over vice-captain said. It was understandable since Rohit has just turned a father and Ritika also responded to him saying she too was missing her husband and even more than he missed her.
At this juncture, entered Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s in-form leg-spinner in the limited overs. The 28-year-old bowler shares a cordial relation with Rohit and Ritika and has been seen sharing light moments with them in the past as well. This time, too, he chipped in saying “I miss myself”.
Indian team isn’t missing Chahal though
The Indian team though did not miss Chahal on the ground ever since he returned to don the blue jersey. Chahal got to play his first match of 2019 in the deciding game against Australia in Melbourne and he took 6 wickets for 42 runs to equal the record of former pacer Ajit Agarkar as the most successful bowler for India in ODIs on Australian soil.
He bagged the man of the match on that occasion after India completed a 7-wicket victory and in the very next game, too, he took two wickets against New Zealand in the first ODI in Napier. Both the wickets were key ones – of Ross Taylor and Tom Latham – who Chahal dismissed by taking return catches. India won this game by 8 wickets.
The leg-spinner though is yet to play a Test for India but has emerged as a key member of Virat Kohli’s limited-overs teams with over 108 international wickets and could be very well on the flight to the World Cup starting in May.
